This lovely vessel with so much character has a big heart for a small boat and will suit an enthusiastic adventurous couple who look for maneuverability, atmosphere and cosy comfort. Ideally suited to two people there is also a large single bunk in the saloon/wheelhouse and the dinette in the forward cabin/galley/bar area is able to convert to a small double bed for occasional guests too. The owners cabin in the stern has a good sized double bed, ample storage , a wardrobe, dressing table and is adjacent to the ensuite toilet.
The underwater hull has been over-plated giving a total hull thickness below the water line of 7mm (4+3mm). All wet surfaces have recently been sandblasted and recoated, including the initial antifouling, with a second coat to be applied prior to.relaunching included. Currently on hard stand in a secure boat yard in central Burgundy on the Nivernais canal, the present owners have owned the boat for 15 years and is currently still "in survey" for the insurers' purpose having been fully surveyed in 2016', but not relaunched since lifted out in Sept 2019 prior to Covid. For this reason too we have spent a total of 8 weeks with the boat since Covid attending, with professional help where required to maintenance and repainting etc. without navigating in that period.
Jaymi-B has brand new (recently replaced) flexible solar panels with 200W capacity, producing around 40 volts to the regulator. The SP system is configured to 24v as both the house batteries and engine batteries are 24v output to suit the Volvo Penta 32MDA 6 cylinder. 4 new 105W batteries have been fitted and have yet to be subject to regular use. In 2018 replacing the 24" diameter 3 blade 13" pitch with a 4 blade 22 inch 18" pitch bronze alloy supplied by FAL Scottish Prop Services, fitted professionally by the boat yard at Castel Sarrasin, Canal de Garonne during our 3 year voyage in the Occitanie region, has rewarded us with far better steering control at lower speeds together with tangible thrust and economic speed improvements and reversing directional stability.
In summary - a big heart, abnormally large fuel and water capacity for such vessels - make Jaymi-B a very appealing boat to navigate and holiday in. She has been across the channel at least twice, and coast hopped down to Barcelona several times. She copes well in the Rhone and is easy to handle in locks etc. Generally we experience fuel consumption of around 2+ litres per hour, travelling at approx 1400rpm.
Another significant feature of this surprisingly roomy comfortable boat, is the ability to enjoy all round views from the saloon and the galley/dinette areas. The exceptional large galley worktops and the ability to look out without effort make living aboard a pleasure, as do the safer strong all-round handrails of sensible height and the twin steer with Morse controls.
There are two 14 inch wheel quality 4 speed bikes on board and an inflatable 2.6m dinghy with 3.5 hp 4 stroke Mercury that has a genuine less than 10 hours of use so far.
Other features include -
• 6 quality adequate length warps/mooring ropes to benefit from the centre cleats as well;
• A galvanic isolater is fitted as /when required to the shore power input;
• Probably the most reliable fridge available, the 80litre 240/24/12v fridge with compressor and inverter internally is an "offroad" Engel upright that really does produce ice in the freezer compartment;
• In the recent process of repainting the hull, 6 new fresh water anodes have also been fitted.
• A small microwave is also fitted for use when connected to shore power as there is only a 500w inverter on board
• Included are all essential cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery, glassware etc, together with many mechanical and general tools for maintenance and also spare filters and impellor
• long life UV resistant "dodgers" fitted to the rear deck rails provide extra shelter, privacy and comfort on those quiet evenings and in the windy wet conditions sometimes encountered.
• "Air Draught" with biminis, wind screens and, if necessary, mast down is approximately 2.9m or less, providing confidence where low bridges are encountered.,
