Trident Challenger 35. Hull built 1981. Designed by Angus Primrose and built by Trident Marine UK. The Trident Challengers are well sought after for their bullet proof construction and traditional lines. With a long keel, moderate draft/displacement and an excellent ballast ratio, they have excellent passage making abilities. Well proven and highly regarded for blue water cruising, the Trident Challenger is built for adventure and at 35 ft, is a good size for family, friends or just single-handed adventure. Trident Yachts were still building these boats up until 2001 so the Trident Challenger 35 was a very popular model.
This Trident Challenger is the aft cockpit version, they are very well sought after cruising yachts as they are heavy displacement cruisers with excellent ballast ratio.
They are a relatively modern design, so it is a testament to the designer Angus Primrose that they are still relevant in today’s marketplace.
This yacht was only launched by her 2nd owners in 1992 with the intention of a circumnavigation. They owned her for 30 years, lived onboard for 20 of those years, and circumnavigated the globe from the UK for 16 of those years. I took custody in December 2021 in Spain and with the intention of doing the same again. Mid-adventure my personal situations changed which cut short my plans having sailed her in the Western Mediterranean, Cape Verde, Caribbean and finishing in Panama.
