This offshore support vessel, flagged under Malaysia and built in 2018, is meticulously designed to support a variety of offshore operations. The SOLAS vessel is classed by ABS with the notation ABS + A1 (E), Offshore Support Vessel (Supply, FFV1, TOW, AH, OSR-C2) + AMS, DPS-2, SPS, ensuring compliance with stringent industry standards for safety, functionality, and performance.
With a length overall (LOA) of 65.00 meters, a breadth moulded of 15.80 meters, a depth moulded of 6.50 meters, and a draft moulded of 5.10 meters, this vessel is both spacious and robust. It boasts a deadweight tonnage (DWT) of 1640 tons, a gross tonnage (GRT) of 2071, and a net tonnage (NRT) of 638, making it capable of handling substantial loads.
The vessel’s clear deck area of 450 square meters can handle a deck loading of 7.0 tons per square meter. It has substantial cargo capacities, including approximately 580 cubic meters of fuel oil, 375 cubic meters of fresh water, 820 cubic meters of drill water or water ballast, 400 cubic meters of liquid mud with agitators or brine, and 4 cement tanks each with a capacity of 42.5 cubic meters.
Powered by two main engines rated at 2400 kW each, driving Berg CP azimuth thrusters, and supported by two 12.0-ton Kawasaki CPP-type bow thrusters, the vessel ensures excellent maneuverability and propulsion. The power generation system includes three Caterpillar generators at 450 kWe each, two shaft generators at 1230 kWe each, and an emergency Caterpillar generator at 136 kWe. The vessel’s trial speed is approximately 13.0 knots.
Accommodation facilities on board include six 2-man cabins, four 1-man cabins, and eight 4-man cabins, providing comfortable living space for up to 48 men. Additional facilities include a hospital, a chiller and freezer space of approximately 20 cubic meters, and provisions to last for 25 days.
The vessel is well-equipped for towing and anchor handling with an electro-hydraulic driven waterfall winch capable of 150 tons of pull on the first layer, and a brake holding capacity of 250 tons. Additional deck equipment includes a 3-ton marine crane, electro-hydraulic capstans, tugger winches, towing pins, shark jaws, and a stern roller.
Safety and emergency systems on the vessel are comprehensive, including multiple life rafts, life buoys, lifejackets, immersion suits, an FRP rescue boat, and an array of fire-fighting equipment both for internal and external threats. The dynamic positioning system meets DPS-2 class notation with dual independent joystick controls, DP control computers, DGPS sensors, and other advanced navigation and positioning equipment.
