This Heavy Lift-cum-Pipelay Vessel is classified under ABS notation +A1(E) +AMS, featuring a DPS-1 dynamic positioning system with IRS notation SUL (Sarvoutam Langer) and IY (Indian Yantra). With an LOA of 161.53 m, a molded beam of 37.80 m, and a depth to the main deck of 15.00 m, the vessel is designed for offshore heavy-lifting and pipelaying operations. It operates at a min. draft of 4.00 m and is equipped with a 10-point mooring system consisting of six anchors forward and four aft, each weighing 12.5 mt, integrated with an advanced computerized navigation, dynamic positioning & ballast stability systems.
The propulsion system includes two azimuth thrusters of 2400kW each and a bow tunnel thruster of 1250kW, allowing for a service speed of 6-8 knots. Power generation is provided by three main diesel generators of 2600kW each, supported by a 1000kW emergency and harbor generator.
A key feature of this vessel is the AmClyde Model PC-42 HVY fully revolving post crane, with a main hook capacity of 2722 MT SWL at a 27 m radius, an auxiliary hook of 725 MT SWL at 53 m, and a whip hook of 110 MT SWL at 95 m. The vessel is further equipped with two pedestal deck cranes, each rated at 50 mt at 29 m, with a boom length of 46.8 m for the main hook and 50 m for the auxiliary hook.
For pipelaying operations, the vessel supports coated pipes ranging from 6” to 60” OD, with two 100 mt tensioners. Pipe-lay workstations include six welding stations, one NDT station, two joint coating stations, and one repair station. A shallow water S-lay stinger and six 50 mt-rated pipeline davits support installation activities. The A& R winch system offers a max. tension of 200t, with a drum capacity of 1600 m for an 88 mm rope, operating at 25 m/min.
The helideck is designed for max. weight of 12.8 mt as per CAP 437 requirements. The main deck load capacity is 10t/sq.m. Tank capacities include 11,686t of water ballast, 2334t of fuel oil, 3064t of fresh water, 1600t of technical fresh water, and 77t of lubricating oil.
The SPS accommodations support up to 290 personnel on-board in en suite cabins. Communication and navigation systems include satellite communication, fleet broadband, VHF, UHF, SSB, FM, RADAR (X & S Band), gyrocompass (integrated with DPS), an integrated CCTV system, GMDSS, EAS, AIS, LRIT, and ECDIS. A computer LAN network with internet ensures onboard connectivity.
The vessel is a member of IMCA and IPLOCA, complying with international offshore operational standards. Firefighting and life-saving equipment are maintained as per class requirements, ensuring high safety standards for offshore heavy-lift construction/ installation and pipe-lay operations globally.
